Adelanto GP Adelanto, CA 02/24/08:

Shaun Moore

Shaun's race this weekend started from the back.....Well, in the start of the race he was in the first row, but after the "Dead Start" race began. His quad didnt, not at first anyway. The Adelanto GP is set up to where competetitors start in waves beginning with the pro class and 30 secs. later the Experts, Ams..ect. Shaun ended up leaving the start as the experts where sent away. Two laps later he made up the 30 seconds and passed nearly half the Pro field before finishing. Look for Shaun to regroup for the Round #3 WORCS race later this month! (The race was originally Three laps but a non-racer incident cut the contest short after the entire field had completed a lap.)

Cody Mitchell

Cody made the trek down to Adelanto for his 2nd GP event this year. Coming off of his "Silver Metal" race at the Adelanto GP in 2007, he was hopeful for yet another great finish. He started off well on his KTM 450 fighting the rough sandy terrain always staying the top 10 despite the unexpected restart and shortening of the race. Cody was charging to the front all through the 2 lap race and would have finished in the top five if the race was at its full length. Cody will take on Lake Havasu next in Round 3 of the WORCS season..stay tuned!

Soboba GP San Jacinto, CA 2/9/08:

Cody Mitchell

The Soboba Gran Prix was known as one of the toughest GP events in the country when it was originaly ran. Cody decided to take on the event, now in its 2nd year of resurrection. He ran the Pro class, a feat in itself, battling against the top riders of West coast. There were more than a couple potential race winners: Polaris's Doug Eichner,Temecula Motorsports Pro's Danny Prather,Levi Marano, Mike Cafro, and not to mention Can-Am's Josh Fredricks. There were 30 pros signed up in all. Cody had a completely trouble free day, holding off the majority of the pro class scoring a 12th overall and getting a big confidence boost in the process. "To stay competitive in THIS field of racers is all most as good as podium" -Cody muttered after the race. It was a hard fought finish! Congrats to Cody! look for him in action soon at the Adelanto GP!

WORCS Series Round 1 1/26/08:

Cody Mitchell

Cody had a very productive weekend in the first round of the WORCS season. He had some mechanical issues before the races even started and ended up borrowing a fellow racers quad. He still ended up qualifing for the Pro-AM race in an impressive 5th place finish. Cody backed that up with a 6th place finish in the Pro-AM race on Sunday with the pro guys. Congats to Cody this is a great start to the 2008 season! Cody would also like to personally thank the guys at Triumph Motorsports with all their help trying to solve his mechanical issues and Ed Teixera for letting him use his quad during the event.

Shaun Moore

Shaun had a sucessful race filled weekend, treking down to the first round of the WORCS series. The weekend went well for Shaun as he took his still nearly stock KTM 525XC to a 13th place finish in the Open A class, just shy of qualifing for the Pro-AM race the next day. He ended up letting his teammate Cody ride his quad in the Pro-AM race sacrificing his ability to race at all on Sunday but, the team wanted to race and win on KTMs. Shauns next race will be in Adelanto, CA look for him to do well!!

PIAA / WORCS Endurance Race 1/12/08:

It only the second race of the new season for ACE Racing to score its first top spot on the podium. The PIAA/WORCS 8 Hour Endurace Race in Pheonix, AZ was the scene as Cody and Shaun took on the A class in this first of 2 such races in 2008. "It was a fast, fun race" Shaun noted but he also said that the 7 mile track rutted up pretty bad towards the end of the race. The harsh conditions didn't sway the team as they had zero mechanical problems besides a blown out exhaust tip on one of the quads. The team could not have been happier with the performance of the KTM quads which propelled them to their 1st in class, 5th overall finish. ACE Racing would also like to send a special thanks to Collins Webster for riding with the team for this race, he was a great addition to the team and rode very well. Look for more WORCS action soon as the duo return to Arizona soon for the first 2008 WORCS race later this month.

BITD Parker 250 1/5/08:

The 2008 racing year started well for the now PRO ATV team of Shaun Moore and Cody Mitchell. This marks the first year of Cody's pro career and Shaun's return after a year of racing in the expert class.

The first race of the BITD season is known as the "Parker 250", a 3 lap race consisting of 75 miles loops. It's a sandy, rocky, fast paced race, the perfect setting to get a feel for the team's new KTM 525 XCs. Cody was the first rider of the day, starting 4th off the line. Cody kept the quad in the same position 20 miles later right behind the 3rd place rider, handing the machine the Shaun for his first lap of 75 miles. Shaun passed the rider right out of the pit showing the new quad's power and top speed. The position stayed the same as he handed it off to Cody voicing his concern about the untested quad's suspension set up. Attrition started to affect the Pro field as former team riders Nic Granlund and Greg Stuart suffered a race ending motor failure after leading the race by minutes ahead of Honda's Wayne Matlock. That DNF moved the ACE Racing duo into 2nd place for most of the lap until the steering stabilizer broke making it difficult to control the machine through the sandy desert. Cody held off the rest of the field until the last 20 miles of his lap when he was over taken by two other teams. Shaun mounted the quad for the last 50 miles, and ended up getting passed right at the end of the race securing a 5th place finish for the teams Pro debute. The team had ZERO engine problems a testimate the new quads future with the team. The team heads back to the waterfront in May at the BITD BlueWater GP look for them to finish well! This was a great beginning to the partnership between KTM and ACE Racing, and with the new 525XC as our machine, a championship is surely on the horizon
